Outdoor lounge chairs are meant to give us the same comfort and quality sitting experience that we normally would enjoy on chairs inside the house.
There are many different styles in which patio lounge chairs are manufactured, and their main purpose is to give you comfortable seating when you are outside with family members and friends. Lounge chairs are usually made out of either metal, plastic, or wood. The experience that you are looking to get out of your lounge chair will make the difference in the style of chair that is best suited for you and your party.
Wood Chairs
Chaise lounge chairs and other lounge chairs that are made of wood do not come cheaply. They are quite expensive and for good reason. Wood chairs are very sturdy and hardly ever will far apart. They never rust like metal chairs, and they can hold body weight better than plastic chairs can.
Wood chairs do tend to be heavier than metal or plastic chairs, but this is only because they are manufactured to stand up to most any kind of weather conditions while also being durable enough to withstand any abuse they may receive from normal wear and tear. You can actually get quite a few years out of wood lounge chairs as long as you treat them and cover them up when they are not in use.
Plastic Chairs
No outdoor patio would be complete without a couple of plastic lounge chairs at the very least. Plastic chairs, like most pool lounge chairs are also extremely durable, as they can withstand most any kind of weather condition without breaking or busting. Where plastic chairs differ greatly from wood and metal chairs is that they are usually very light and easy to move around.
Most anyone can lift a plastic chair, and they normally blend in well with a variety of settings. Another nice quality of plastic lounge chairs is that they tend to be cheaper than their wood or metal counterparts, so they are very popular for outdoor parties.
Metal Chairs
When you need additional seating outside, metal chairs come in very handy. Their durability is unmatched and most metal lounge chairs can last for many years if they are treated with care and not abused. They also are going to be less expensive than wood chairs, which makes them a more popular form of outdoor seating. And many of them are used as folding lounge chairs, so storage is never a problem.
The only drawback to metal chairs is that they rust out easily if you do not cover them up when precipitation falls outside. The water seeps into the metal and causes the corrosion that eventually leads to rust and a general weakening of the chairs arms and legs. Metal chairs, however, do provide a great means to providing cheap, affordable, and comfortable outdoor seating for family and friends.
